Triticum turgidum ssp. dicoccon var. dicoccon
.The ears of this old, tall conservation variety turn a beautiful blue-violet when ripe.
The plants form black glumes with long awns. It can be grown as a summer or winter cereal - sowing in October gives a safe harvest. When sowing, do not sow too close together (distance between rows approx. 20-25 cm). The ears look very nice in summer bouquets (harvest as green ear) or for autumn decorations.
